Understanding Congenital Hypothyroidism

Congenital Hypothyroidism or CHT is a condition in newborn babies, wherein they have decreased or absent thyroid function and thyroid hormone production. The thyroid gland, situated in the lower neck, makes iodine-containing hormones that regulate brain development, growth and metabolism.
