Are You Safe from These Lifestyle Diseases?

You can prevent most lifestyle diseases. Yet, each year more Indians fall prey to lifestyle diseases like diabetes, osteoporosis, some heart diseases, depression, and the king of them all – obesity. In fact, as the Lancet reported in 2002: “… observations suggest that the diets [or lifestyle] of different populations might partly determine their rates of cancer…” (via).Why, then, do we take the risk of lifestyle diseases so lightly? Some of the blame lies with the paucity of health information that balances ‘serious illness' reporting with lifestyle-related health risks. But most of the blame lies with our lack of discipline.
