Remedies to Get Rid of Acne on Your Back
Acne is not just limited to the face, but one can have acne on the body and the back. Back acne or bacne is caused by overactive sebaceous glands on the back. However, unlike face acne, bacne is usually more inflammatory as the pores on your back are larger and produce more oil. So, here are a few home remedies to get rid of unpleasant bacne.
Exfoliation will help get rid of dead skin cells from clogged pores on the back. You can use a loofah or a sponge with an attached handle to reach all the inaccessible places on the back. Once you’re done exfoliating, dry your back and apply cream consisting of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, which helps fight bacne.
Avoid harsh soap
Wiki reports that the ideal skin pH level should be maintained at 4.7 to ensure healthy skin. However, using a harsh soap will cause this pH level to rise above 5, causing dryness, scaliness and blemishes. The soap also strips the skin of its natural oils and flares up bacne. People with bacne should look out for over-the-counter cleansers, which specifically target acne prone skin.
Apple cider vinegar
Using apple cider vinegar also helps maintain the skins pH balance, thereby fighting bacne. All you have to do is mix one part of apple cider vinegar and one part of filtered water in a spray bottle. After a shower, spray this vinegar solution on your back and let it dry. You can also do this before bed for faster results. This will lower the skins pH and prevent bacne.
You can also mix together baking soda and water and apply it on your back to kill the bacteria and to regulate healthy oil production by the sebaceous glands. This will also help prevent bacne.
Wear clean loose clothes
Apart from all the remedies, it is important for people with bacne to wear clean, loose cotton clothing, which will allow the skin to breathe.
