According to Rajesh, Hindu push ups are great to flex and pump up your chest muscles, triceps and shoulders. Hindu push ups also works great as body weight exercise; workouts that don’t use equipments. Rajesh says, “The movement requires strength, flexibility, and utilises many of the major muscles in the upper body. You will feel these in your chest, shoulders, and triceps for sure.”
The story behind the name goes that the Hindu push ups were part of wrestlers’ training in India, Iran, Turkey, China and Japan. The Hindu push ups are believed to have originated in India, thus the name. Apparently Great Gama of India did 2000 Hindu push ups in a day.
