Age-23, Gender- Male height-5 feet 8 inches Weight-61 kg Status- Unmarried .Problem- fitness problem and thin body structure.......Getting Confused whether to choose gym for making body muscular and healthy but confusion lying that I may get more thinner from gym.I think my weight should cross 70 according to my bone structure but is too low What would be its appropriate solution I have taken Ayurvedic medicine ASWAGANDHA for 1 and half month but it did not worked properly Should i prefer taking Medicines to gain weight? or I should be positive regarding my weight problem and keep on moving Would be more pleased if u respond to my problem as fast as possible.Thanking You

For weight gain, focus on eating wholesome meals by including fruits like bananas, whole grains, pulses, sprouts, peanuts, dry fruits, low fat milk, yogurt, salads, starchy vegetables like potatoes, tofu, soy milk etc. I recommend 2 to 3 days of yoga as well as workouts at your preferred gym. Yoga also benefits the musculo-skeletal system, tones muscles, stretches and invigorates the central nervous system. Make sure you eat regularly, every 2 to 3 hourly basis. Your exercises must be done under expert guidance to benefit you, to correct your form and to encourage you. Exercises must be done consistently to make you energetic, strong, for better stamina and flexibility and incorporating the above mentioned foods, ensures that your diet has the necessary nutrients.
very close dear one is told that she is suffering from anxiety and depresion, as a result se is taking 4 different drugs, right now she is feeling just exausted and cant even go to work. How can I help her? I am so worried of the side effects all these drugs, she is 29 years of age.

Firstly, your dear friend must have counseling sessions under a competent counselor. With this, you can guide her to enroll in a yoga or meditation class for better clarity of thought, focus and for alleviating anxieties, stress and tension. Since you have not mentioned the nature of her depression, I am not in a position to offer any guidance apart from this. Your help, concern and support will mean a lot to her.
Hi, I'm 25 yrs, Male, 80 kgs with abdominal Fat. I just started doing workouts. I experience shortness of breath very often, whenever I do exercise I'll start breathing very heavily, just within a minute, with an accelerated heart beat. I consulted a Cardiologist for my shortness of breath problem and all the tests I had undergone stated I have no issues. May be the SOB is due to psychological problem or stress. Focus on improving and correcting your lifestyle b incorporating a good sensible diet, regular moderate exercises like calisthenics, 3 days of yoga with breathing exercises, proper sleep and rest. Poor eating habits and a bad life style can lead to a lot of health related problems and obesity. Exercises when done regularly and sensibly will remove all energy block, will improve your reflexes and alertness and will certainly improve your energy levels. If you are a beginner, it will take a few days of regular exercises to overcome the initial discomfort and fatigue that you may face in the beginning. Exercise with caution and begin with something that you can enjoy and sustain. Even brisk walks are recommended.

A healthy and a balanced diet with a few simple exercises are recommended. Your diet must consist of plenty of fruits, veggies, sprouts, low fat milk, moderate amounts of whole grains, nuts and adequate amounts of water daily to help you maintain your weight, lose inches and for toning. Brisk walks, exercises like calisthenics, yoga or power yoga are excellent for the abs as well as for overall toning and wellness. Do regular abs exercises like sit ups, crunches, lying down cycling etc along with the other ones mentioned in this. Most of these are easy to do at home.
With the above mentioned food choices and 30 to 40 minutes of exercises or walks with regularity and commitment will help you achieve your goals. If you are a novice at exercises, I suggest you do them under guidance for preventing injuries and for form and posture correction.

Follow a good diet with foods like bananas, fruits, veggies, beans, sprouts, nuts, peanuts, low fat milk/ soy milk and grains. Yoga and stretching should be done on a regular basis for toning and some strength training exercises can be done under a trained person. Also include pranayam or breathing exercises as often as possible

Focus on regular exercises, a regulated diet and a healthy attitude for improved, stamina, flexibility, immunity and metabolism. Cut back on oil, sugar and salt. Try to have an early dinner of soup, stir fry veggies, salads and substitute wheat, rice breads etc with millets like jowar, bajra, ragi and ensure you have plenty of liquids like green teas, soups, vegetable juices etc. You can try these for your abs- ab crunches, reverse crunches, lying down cycling, leg raises and yogasanas like, bhujangasan, dhanurasasn, suryanamaskars. All these work on toning your abdomen muscles. Always do these under supervision.
i feel sleepy all the day. what to do ? i have my breakfast around say 11am then after i start feeling sleepy and then i require long sleep say of around 2-3 hours during holidays. during week days after comming from college i am in a habit of sleeping 3 hours and then i feel good, relax and able to study late nights say till 2 am. tell me something so that i can cut these long sleep hours .

Hi Druv, the main reason for this lethargy and lack of energy is your complete lack of activity in terms of exercises. Since you have not mentioned your exercise or food pattern, I assume you are lacking in this. Please do incorporate brisk walks, free hand exercises if going to a gym is not possible and yoga to correct your excess sleep pattern as well. Consult an expert to guide you in your exercise and yoga training and incorporate a sensible eating pattern that include foods like fruits, nuts, vegetables etc. Avoid excess sugar, salt and processed and fried foods. Healthy foods have a good influence on your moods and attitudes. Focus on improving your activity levels.

Dear Shreeratan, Always take care while exercising and do them under guidance. Take advise from your doctor as well before taking up any form of exercises. Your weight can definitely be controlled by following a diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, soups, veg juices, salads, moderate amounts of whole grains, green tea, low fat milk etc. Avoid sweets, desserts, fried foods, soft drinks, alcohol and cheese and butter. Do regular breathing exercises or pranayam and ensure you get sufficient rest and sleep. All these parameters are important for your wellness quotient and for a gradual weight loss and will ensure good nutrition as well. The tingling feeling could be a lack of B Complex and iron in your diet and it will help if you could talk to your doctor about this.

Moderate amounts of wine or cognac can be had when you are in a mood for it. Just don’t make a habit of it. But, you need to talk to your physician if you are a diabetic and are on medication etc.
Exercises like brisk walks interspersed with 3 days of yoga will be excellent for overall wellness and for better flexibility, stamina, better metabolism and for delayed aging. Eat well by incorporating foods like fresh and seasonal fruits, raw vegetables, sprouts, millets, etc which are essential for the upkeep of one’s skin, hair and the digestive system.
Having sex regularly will certainly help to keep you energetic and is a great feel good factor.

The best way to achieve weight loss and for toning is to focus on a sensible eating plan with regular exercises that includes yoga, calisthenics, brisk walks, swimming or gym workouts. For tummy, I recommend regular yoga with 8 to 10 rounds of suryanamaskar and other ab exercises like ab crunches, lying down cycling etc.
Greying of hair could be a genetic reason or a lack of proper nutrition. Ensure you incorporate fruits, nuts, veggies, milk, whole grains etc daily.
