There are different ingredients one can add to chai like ginger, spices, lime juice and even lemongrass. Each of these ingredients in chai has different health benefits like relieving you of cold and a lot more.

Health benefits of Chai:

It is a healthy substitute to coffee as it contains antioxidants, which promotes heart health and brain health.

Negative effects of Chai:

Chai powder or CTC powder boiled in milk, water and sugar for a long-time can turn toxic. So, it is recommended to steep the tea powder until the flavours are infused in water and avoid boiling the chai. Tea with milk and sugar adds empty calories, which can make you prone to gaining unhealthy weight.

Negative effects of Green tea:

Excess consumption of green tea can adversely affect the liver and has other negative side effects. Since some green tea contains caffeine it is recommended that it is not safe for children to consume green tea. Excess consumption of green tea reduces the absorption of folic acid, which is vital for cell growth. It also reduces iron absorption in the body.
