Review: Is Oral B Pro Health a Multi-Benefit Toothpaste?
Protects you from most dental problems like tooth decay, sensitivity, bad breathe and protects the enamel.
May not protect your teeth against tartar and it may not whiten your teeth.
Different people react differently to different toothpastes. But for all-round protection you need to visit your dentist every six months.
There are several toothpastes available in the market. So how do you decide which toothpaste works best for you. Oral B is the latest toothpaste to hit the Indian market and it promises all round protection from several dental health problems. Is it a marketing gimmick or does it really work? We take a closer look at this product.
Oral B Pro Health Toothpaste is a product of Procter & Gamble, which is the ‘next gen toothpaste’, as it claims to protect against cavities, gingivitis, plaque, sensitivity, enamel, tartar, and bad breath.
Most toothpastes contains sodium monofluorophosphate or sodium floride for dental protection. But Oral B Pro Health contains stannous fluoride; stannous by itself does not promote dental protection. But, when it is mixed with fluoride it is far more effective.
Tartar is caused by hardening of plaque and you can prevent plaque by brushing your teeth, flossing and avoid smoking. Removing tartar is not the same as brushing off plaque. You need to visit a dentist to get rid of the tartar.
Likewise there are toothpastes for teeth whitening, just as Oral B Pro Health claims. But these toothpastes only remove the surface stains and do not bleach teeth. However, this toothpaste promises to make your teeth a shade lighter.
Gingivitis can be cleared up only with the help of a dentist. But this toothpaste can prevent plaque, which is the reason for gingivitis.
Oral B Pro Health is definitely sensitive to the teeth and will protect you from gum diseases and plaque and therefore, related problems when used twice a day. This minty toothpaste has a seal to ensure that it is tamper-proof .
Oral B Pro Health is available in 140 gms tube for Rs 98 and 75 gms tube for Rs 59.
