Causes and Treatment of Chronic Shoulder Pain Explained

Essentually, there are five main causes of shoulder pain. Let us understand them in detail:

#1 Cause of Shoulder Pain. Shoulder Osteoarthritis. 

Osteoarthritis.
Also known as degenerative arthritis, osteoarthritis is a ‘wearing out’ condition, which is involved in the breakdown of cartilage in the joints. This joint cartilage is a gel-like substance, which provides support and lubrication to the joints. When this cartilage wears away, the bones rub against each other leading to pain and stiffness and thus causing osteoarthritis.

People who suffer from shoulder osteoarthritis, may experience stiffness and pain in shoulder along with having signs of swelling and tenderness in one or more joints. In some extreme cases, patients with shoulder osteoarthritis may become completely debilitating.
