PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian syndrome is a heterogeneous complex metabolic, endocrine, reproductive disorder affecting 9.13% Indian adolescents, about 2.2% to 26% women in the age range of 18 to 45 years in India. It is characterized by irregularity in menses, hirstuism, ovarian cysts, hormonal imbalance, acne, weight gain, obesity mood swings, food craving, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension.
