Quadriceps is a large muscle group that helps you run, walk, sit, squat and jump. When quadriceps are weak, the muscles tighten and apply pressure on your knees. To repeat, when quads tighten, the pressure moves to the knees. Hence injury to the knee or hip leads to muscle weakness, or lack of exercise too can make you weak in the knees as well.
