How Much Sugar and Salt Should I Eat Everyday?

Salt, table salt, iodised salt or natural/sea salt are different names, but are they essentially the same?

Salt and table salt are refined but iodised salt is refined and has iodine added to it to prevent iodine deficiency conditions like goitre, myxedema and cretinism. Sea or natural salt is mostly unrefined and has higher content of sodium and chlorine and also magnesium and potassium.

The World Health Assembly in 1995 implemented that iodine be added to salt to prevent health problems; this is very apt for people who face malnourishment and famine. But for those who are well off, iodine is present in eggs, seasfood, grains and dairy products hence we get enough iodine without relying only on salt for it. Refined salt doesn’t give us other minerals available in natural or sea salt.  (Via)
