Myth: Go for a low carb diet; cut out cereal, pasta, rice and bread and you're fine.

Truth: Even if you do, carbs can be found in other foods too and you may not even know when you are consuming them. Carbs are also present in beans, bananas, oranges, pears, dates, cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes and sweet corn. If you strike out only cereals, brown bread and rice, while consuming fruits and veggies high in carbs, then your low-carb diet still goes out for a toss.

Instead of avoiding carbs completely, you're better of focusing on the good carbs and eating enough of them for your daily needs.

  • Carbs are good for those trying to avoid cholesterol
  • Flush out refined carbs completely
  • If you avoid carbs how will get enough fibers?
  • Go for a low carb diet
  • Carbs are not associated with beer
