When did you realise that you were overweight? Was it a ‘Happy realisation’ or a medical issue?

I was not very fat, not even overweight I would say. The thought of weight loss crossed my mind when suddenly my regular clothes didn’t fit right, I saw my belly protruding out and my stamina levels fell dropped in a matter of 2-3 months. I found myself getting uncomfortable during parties and felt that everyone was looking at me, hence I felt the need to lose weight and get back into shape.

How did you begin your weight loss journey? Tell us about the baby steps you took, like avoiding junk food, alcohol or if you started to take a walk after lunch etc?

I think by nature, we humans are lazy people, we don’t serious until and unless we are pushed towards it, so I needed a motivation, a coach who would inspire me and push me towards a healthy lifestyle. For this I joined a gym (Snap fitness, Gurgaon). Let me be very honest, right from day one I felt light! It was as if my body and muscles needed the exercise. Apart from exercise I started to avoid walking past the fridge. I also started keeping a tab on my junk food habits, especially roadside food.

My nutritionist at the gym designed a diet for me which I have been religiously following.

Tell us about your exercise regime? How difficult was it in the beginning to exercise? What were your biggest concerns?

Initially, I could not workout for a longer duration because of low endurance, but gradually I built up my stamina levels and also extended my workout duration to one and half hours. My exercise regime was a mixture of cardio & strength exercises. My biggest concern was my waist to hip ratio.

Tell us about your diet? What kind of changes did you make? Did your family help you or join you in your efforts?

I started eating every three hours. The food was non-greasy. I also included a lot of fruits and raw veggies and cut down on rice and desserts. Yes, my family actually supported me and helped keep me motivated.

Now, I feel 10 years younger. It feels really great to wear a size what I used to do years ago and all credit goes to my trainers Kuldeep and Sanjay, who helped follow the strict workout and diet regime, which led to my healthy weight loss
