Hair loss is a major concern for most women. Hair loss can be stressful but one must understand the real reasons for hair loss before fretting about it. Health related reasons like anemia, stress, protein deficiency etc. are known to cause hair loss. Read on to find out more about the underlying reason behind hair fall and remedies to treat this problem.

 

Anaemia
Anaemia is a common condition among women. This condition is mainly caused due to iron deficiency and has several symptoms that affect the overall health of a woman. Hair loss is one such symptom caused due to anaemia. However, this condition can easily be controlled by adding iron supplements to your diet. Opt for dark leafy vegetables, liver, dark chocolate, nuts and pumpkin skin as they are a good sources of iron. This will not only cease the hair loss but will also improve other symptoms of anaemia like headaches and energy lows.

Stress
Another leading cause for hair loss is stress. Any kind of physical or mental disturbance like an accident, death or breakup can lead to stress and anxiety. This can take a toll on your health and can trigger temporary hair loss. But as the stress subsides your hair fall will stop and it will begin to grow back eventually. 

Protein deficiency
The body needs a healthy dose of proteins to maintain healthy and strong hair. When the body does not get this protein supply for a long time, you will notice several consequences, one of them being hair loss. Make sure that you get your regular dose of proteins to maintain hair health.

Hypothyroidism
Hair loss can also be triggered by an underactive thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism is a condition that will limit the hormones needed by the body to enhance metabolism, hair growth and other important functions.


Eating Disorders
Unhealthy means of weight loss can take a toll on your body. People with eating disorders like anorexia nervosa or bulimia put their body through extreme conditions that can trigger several side effects like hair loss or hair thinning.
