Winter Care: Ways to Stay Hydrated in Winter

It’s easier to keep the body hydrated in summer as we naturally tend to keep drinking fluids but it is equally important to keep the body well hydrated in winter even though you don’t feel like drinking water often. Keeping yourself hydrated in winter will help boost your immune system which will help prevent a flu and cold. Apart from that it will also keep the skin moisturised, thereby protecting it from drying. Here are some easy ways to increase your water intake in winter.


Eat water-based foods
Eating fresh fruits and vegetables are an easy way to increase your water intake. Consume water-based foods like cucumber, lettuce, watermelon etc. as they have high water content and are low in calories.

Juicing
Another way to reap the benefits from fruits and vegetables without eating them whole is to juice them up. This will not only help your body absorb all of their nutrients but will also keep your body hydrated.

Warm drinks
If you don’t feel like indulging in juices and water because of the cold weather, try hot chocolate, tea and cider, which are good options and keep you hydrated without the extra calories. The warm water will also make you feel better on those chilly days.

Flaxseeds water
Another way to keep you well hydrated during winter is to consume flaxseed water. This ayurvedic method suggests that you soak flaxseeds in water overnight. These seed will then fill with water and produce a gel like substance. Drink this substance in the morning on an empty stomach to help your body retain moisture throughout the day.
