DIY: Homemade Toners for A Glowing Skin
Cleansing, toning and moisturising are the three main steps of any skincare routine. While cleansing clears out the pores, toning will help remove dirt and dead cells from the skin, giving you a healthy glow. But before you opt for a cosmetic toner from the market, consider making these natural homemade toners.
Take about four spoons of vinegar and rose water in equal quantity. Once you mix the two ingredients together, use a cotton pad to apply the toner on your face. This will not only tone your skin but will also give you a glowing complexion.
Basil leaf toner
Basil leaf also known as tulsi has been known for its effective impact on one’s health. It can also be used as a toner for a clear and glowing skin. Take about 10 basil leaves and leave them in a cup of water for five minutes. Then separate the leaves from the water with a strainer and allow it to cool. You can now use a cotton pad to apply this toner one your face.
Lemon juice toner
Lemon has natural bleaching properties and can be used as a skin toner. You can directly apply lemon juice to your skin after cleansing it. This will also help remove the excess oil from your skin.
Green tea toner
Boil two cups of water and put in two bag of green tea and allow it to boil for about 30 minutes with the lid on. Take out the tea bags and use this water to tone your face.
Boil about a litre of hot water with mint leaves (pudina) in it. After boiling, allow the leaves to remain in the water for 10 minutes. Now strain the mixture and let it cool. Use this toner on your face with a cotton pad.
