Home Remedies: Turmeric for Skincare


Turmeric has anti-bacterial properties and curcumin, a compound present in turmeric, which relieves joint pain, reduces inflammation and stops the growth of cancerous cells. Besides these health benefits, turmeric is also extremely beneficial for skincare. Let’s take a look at how you can use turmeric to treat different skin ailments.

Turmeric for acne:

Due to its antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties, turmeric is used to treat acne. Prepare a face pack with turmeric, sandalwood powder and lime juice. Keep it on for 10 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water.

Turmeric for acne scars:

To reduce acne scars, make a mixture of turmeric and water, apply it on your face for 15 minutes and then wash it off.

Turmeric for wrinkles:

Reduce wrinkles and fine line with a paste made with turmeric, rice powder, raw milk and tomato juice. Apply it on the face for 30 minutes and wash the face pack with lukewarm water.

Turmeric for ageing:

Slowdown ageing with a mixture of turmeric powder and milk or yoghurt. Apply it in a circular motion on the face and leave it on until it dries and then and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Turmeric to get rid of a tan:

Prepare a mixture of turmeric and lime juice and leave it on the face for 30 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
