High-Protein Diet: Vegetables with Low Carbohydrates

A high-protein diet is popular with those trying to lose weight. A high-protein diet does not only comprise poultry and dairy, but we also need to consume fruits and vegetables. So, include these vegetables in you weight loss diet as they are low in carbohydrates.

Vegetables low in carbohydrates:

1) Mushrooms:

They are considered to be rich in vitamin D and antioxidants. Mushrooms are consumed to boost the immune system, reduce weight and restrict the growth of cancerous cells. Half a cup of mushrooms contain 1.2 gms of carbohydrates.

2) Radish:

Radish is beneficial for diabetics, those trying to lose weight and it also relieves constipation. This vegetable is also beneficial for good teeth, gums, nerves, hair and nails. Six raw radishes contain 0.5 gms of carbohydrates.

3) Capsicum:

Capsicums or bell peppers are a good source of vitamin C and lycopene, which is important for maintaining heart health. Capsicum also helps break down waste that is in the blood and is prefect for those suffering from kidney disease. Half a cup of raw capsicums contain 2.3 gms of carbohydrates.

4) Cucumber:

Cucumbers are also high in vitamins A, B and C as well as folate and vitamin D. These are important for maintaining a healthy skin, reducing uric acid levels, treat chronic constipation and reducing weight. Half a cup of cucumber contains 1 gm of carbohydrates.

5) Olives:

Olives are superfoods, which have several health benefits from skincare to heart health. Five olives either green or black contain 0.1-0.7 gms of carbohydrates, respectively.
