The Importance of Circuit Training

Lifting heavy, eating right and getting adequate rest are essential for the development of an ideal physique but there are times when even after following those principles, your body hits that dreaded plateau. Nothing works for you and you find yourself getting frustrated as the weighing scales stay put. It’s during dark times like this that I would highly recommend a Circuit routine to jolt your body out of its plateau. Now keep in mind circuit training need not be done only when you begin to plateau; it can be performed once every month for an entire week as it improves strength, endurance and speeds up the fat burning process.

What is Circuit training you ask? Simply put circuit training is a bunch of aerobic exercises mixed up with resistance training to deliver a high intensity workout. These exercises are performed one after the other – in a circuit – with minimal rest in-between. As I mentioned earlier circuit training involves both aerobic and anaerobic exercises but this method of training is so flexible you can create your very own routine in a matter of minutes with a little bit of research and help from your friendly neighborhood fitness blog (yes, us).

Besides aiding in the fat burning process Circuit training comes with a plethora of other befits such as:
Improves endurance due to lesser resting periods
Aids in muscle gain
Is ideal for those looking at leaning out rather than bulking out
Is a very convenient form of workout ideal for those who don’t have a lot of time on their hands.
It doesn’t confine you to a gym. It can be performed anywhere, even in the comfort of your own house.
