(IANS) While having an apple a day is believed to be enough for keeping the doctor away, a US study has suggested a handful of walnuts a day could keep the fertility specialist at bay.
According to scientists at the University of California, their research has found eating 75 gm of the nuts each day can increase a man's virility and the health of his sperm, Daily Express reported.
In the research, published in the journal Biology Of Reproduction, it was found men aged between 21-35, who regularly ate walnuts, had sperm with enhanced vitality and movement.
The popular nuts are rich in a natural plant source of omega-3, a type of fatty acid thought to be critical to sperm development.
